About This Fossil
Begin an extraordinary journey into deep time with this hand-selected quartet of authentic dinosaur specimens. Specifically curated for young palaeontologists and those taking their first steps into fossil collecting, this introductory collection offers a tangible, scientifically significant connection to the giants of the Mesozoic Era.
The set spans both the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, showcasing the diverse nature of dinosaur fossilisation. From the Jurassic, you will receive a bone fragment of a colossal Sauropod from the famous Morrison Formation, alongside a beautifully polished slice of bone from the Moroccan sauropod, Atlasaurus imelakei, which reveals the intricate internal structure of these giant creatures. From the Cretaceous, the collection includes a genuine Dinosaur Bone Fragment from the Judith River Formation of Montana, and a remarkably textured Dinosaur Eggshell Fragment, offering a rare glimpse into the very beginning of a dinosaur's life cycle.
Purchasing these specimens together as a curated collection represents an excellent way to build a foundational museum of your own at home, whilst enjoying a saving compared to acquiring each piece individually. Each fossil serves as a spectacular educational tool, guaranteed to inspire wonder in minds young and old.
Authenticity & Sourcing
Real vs Replica
- This is a genuine fossil — not a replica unless clearly stated. Clearly described and honestly presented.
- You will receive a specimen similar to the one shown — see Natural Variation below.
Ethical Sourcing
- Sourced from established suppliers and known commercial sites. We do not buy from localities we know to be protected, scientifically restricted, or subject to export controls. Origin and sourcing information is shared where known.
- ✓We will not knowingly handle specimens removed in breach of any country's heritage or export laws.
Origin & Natural Variation
Stated origin are based on supplier information and available geological references. Identification can vary in certainty — especially for fragments — so where exact locality cannot be independently verified, we describe the formation rather than a single quarry.
Fossils are natural objects. Expect minor variation in colour, surface texture, and matrix, mineralisation and surface detail. Treatment information is shown under Condition & Treatment where it is recorded. “Not recorded” means we hold no verified record for that detail; it is not a claim that no treatment occurred.
Read our full authenticity & honest descriptions policy or the authenticity & sourcing clause in our terms.
