    About This Fossil

Hold four genuine pieces of the age of the dinosaurs in your hands.

This Dinosaur Fossil Collection brings together four real fossil specimens representing different parts of dinosaur life – including fossilised bone, eggshell, coprolite and a genuine Spinosaurus tooth.

Designed as an accessible introduction to dinosaurs and palaeontology, the collection is ideal for children, beginner fossil collectors, educational activities and dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages.

Each set contains four genuine fossil specimens:

    • Dinosaur Bone – Morrison Formation, Utah, USA

A genuine fragment of fossilised dinosaur bone from the famous Morrison Formation of the western United States.

The Morrison Formation dates to the Late Jurassic Period, approximately 150 million years ago, and is one of the world's most famous dinosaur-bearing geological formations. Dinosaurs known from the Morrison ecosystem include animals such as Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Diplodocus and Apatosaurus.

The fragment is not identified to a particular dinosaur species, but represents a genuine piece of fossilised dinosaur bone from this extraordinary Jurassic ecosystem.

    • Dinosaur Coprolite – Northwestern USA

A genuine fossil coprolite – fossilised dung – from the age of the dinosaurs.

Coprolites can provide palaeontologists with fascinating evidence about ancient ecosystems, including clues about what prehistoric animals ate and the environments in which they lived.

This specimen originates from Cretaceous deposits in the northwestern United States.

    • Spinosaurus Tooth – Morocco

A genuine fossil Spinosaurus tooth from Morocco.

Spinosaurus was one of the largest known predatory dinosaurs and lived in North Africa during the Cretaceous Period. Its long, conical teeth were well suited to gripping prey and are very different from the blade-like teeth seen in many other large theropod dinosaurs.

The tooth is approximately 100 million years old and comes from the famous fossil-bearing deposits of Morocco.

    • Dinosaur Eggshell – China

A genuine fragment of fossilised dinosaur eggshell from China, dating to the Late Cretaceous Period at approximately 70 million years old.

Eggshell fossils provide direct evidence of dinosaur reproduction and nesting behaviour and offer a very different connection to prehistoric life compared with fossilised bones or teeth.

    DINOSAUR FACT FILE INCLUDED

The collection also includes an educational dinosaur fact file containing information about dinosaurs and the prehistoric world.

On the reverse is a geological time chart showing the major divisions of Earth history and highlighting the Mesozoic Era – the great age of the dinosaurs – from their appearance during the Triassic Period, through the Jurassic, to their extinction at the end of the Cretaceous approximately 66 million years ago.

AN IDEAL FIRST DINOSAUR FOSSIL COLLECTION

Rather than replicas or models, this collection allows the owner to examine four genuine fossils representing different aspects of dinosaur life.

    It makes an excellent:

    • First dinosaur fossil collection • Educational gift for children • Birthday or Christmas present • Home-learning resource • Introduction to palaeontology • Gift for dinosaur enthusiasts • Addition to an existing fossil collection

    Each collection includes:

    • 1 genuine dinosaur bone fragment • 1 genuine fossil coprolite • 1 genuine Spinosaurus tooth • 1 genuine dinosaur eggshell fragment • Dinosaur educational fact file • Geological time chart

    PLEASE NOTE

These are genuine natural fossils rather than manufactured replicas. Fossils naturally vary in size, shape, colour, texture and preservation, so the specimens you receive may differ slightly from those shown in the photographs.

A fascinating starter collection containing four genuine fossils from the age of the dinosaurs – spanning fossilised bone, eggshell, coprolite and the tooth of one of the most remarkable predatory dinosaurs ever discovered.

    Formation & Preservation

This collection contains genuine natural fossils representing different aspects of dinosaur life. Fossils naturally vary in size, shape, colour, texture and preservation, so specimens may differ slightly from those shown in the photographs.

    What Makes This Specimen Special

This accessible collection brings together four genuine fossil types—dinosaur bone, eggshell, coprolite and a Spinosaurus tooth—plus an educational fact file and geological time chart.

    Authenticity & Sourcing

    Real vs Replica

    • This is a genuine fossil — not a replica unless clearly stated. Clearly described and honestly presented.
    • You will receive a specimen similar to the one shown — see Natural Variation below.

    Ethical Sourcing

    • Sourced from established suppliers and known commercial sites. We do not buy from localities we know to be protected, scientifically restricted, or subject to export controls. Origin and sourcing information is shared where known.
    • ✓We will not knowingly handle specimens removed in breach of any country's heritage or export laws.

    Origin & Natural Variation

Stated origin (Utah, USA; northwestern USA; Morocco; China) and formation (Morrison Formation; Cretaceous deposits in northwestern USA; fossil-bearing deposits of Morocco; Late Cretaceous deposits in China) are based on supplier information and available geological references. Identification can vary in certainty — especially for fragments — so where exact locality cannot be independently verified, we describe the formation rather than a single quarry.

Fossils are natural objects. Expect minor variation in colour, surface texture, and matrix, mineralisation and surface detail. Treatment information is shown under Condition & Treatment where it is recorded. “Not recorded” means we hold no verified record for that detail; it is not a claim that no treatment occurred.

Read our full authenticity & honest descriptions policy or the authenticity & sourcing clause in our terms.
